Thank you for having me ABC

My love of Richard Glover is legendary, I’m such a fan that my love extends to all things around him. I’ve loved his wife Debra Oswald since I heard her interview with Richard Fidler and obviously I love her because of Offspring. But not content to stop there I have also developed a serious crush on one of Glover’s radio producers, Emma Crowe.

Emma has appeared “in person” on Richard’s show and it was hard not to fall in love with her and the infectious way she told a story. In fact I once wrote an email to Richard to ask him what happened to Emma at her school reunion because I had heard her speak about it on radio the previous week and was actually hanging to find out how it went! Then I was lucky enough to publish some of Emma’s work on Mamamia and so we got to know each other.

Recently Emma contacted me to ask me if I would appear on the Summer Radio show that she was presenting on 702 ABC on Sunday evenings. This time she was presenting not producing and before I knew it I said yes because a) I love the sound of her voice b) I was flattered beyond belief and c) I forgot how scared I am of speaking in public.

And so it was that last night Woog from Woogsworld and I spent half an hour on air chatting about blogging.   It sounds so simple when I say it like that, it almost belies the fact that I was a nervous wreck who spent the day hoping for a major peace break out that would render all planned radio obsolete (sorry Emma).

And here’s how it went down.

And this is how it looked

Emma was just great and once the show started I almost forgot we were talking live on radio. Almost.

Mr Pencil and Little Pencil drove me into the studio because they knew how nervous I was (and they really wanted an excuse to hop into The Burger Project which is near enough) and the most awesome part of my day was them waiting for me when I left.  A gentle and gorgeous reminder that of all my brilliant experiences – my family is the best.
