Not the type of school letter you normally see

blackboardDear School That My Son Attends

I don’t suppose you have received many love letters before, even on Valentine’s Day Cupid doesn’t shoot many arrows into the heart of a school, so don’t be alarmed. There are just a few things I need to tell you from my heart.  I know it’s quite nerdy, and some would say sycophantic, to write a letter to your school and even though I am a bit of a nerd and I have been known to suck up to the right people from time to time, this letter is born neither from my position as nerd nor from my brown nose. This letter is born from sheer and complete happiness.

Last night I attended my son’s first high-school parent teacher interview. It wasn’t a completely foreign experience because, as you know, the primary and high schools are connected and so everything was very familiar. I fact that is one of the things I love about you – the relaxed familiarity you bring to all our dealings.

My experience last night was undoubtedly buoyed by the fact that everyone I spoke to about my son said things that I wanted to hear, I won’t pretend it didn’t add to my loved up feeling. But there was more to it…

Let me preface this, dear school, by reminding you that I am a teacher by profession. I am also quite difficult to please and I think my son is the most important human being in MY life (maybe not yours, in fact definitely not yours – he is one of many very important boys and girls in your life). I pay you a lot of money – I expect a lot in return.

And you deliver.

How different last night was from my day as a student and even as a teacher is like trying to compare a star to a grain of sand.

Kamagra Jelly is not an aphrodisiac tadalafil cheapest and stimulation will be required to develop an erection. Hoodia grows in clumps of green upright stems and is pfizer viagra canada actually a succulent, not a cactus. In this condition the supply of oxygen through blood is occluded by a thrombus or an embolus. price viagra Apart from finding difficulty in attaining the erection cheapest cipla tadalafil amerikabulteni.com it is weak and soft. As I walked through the grounds to meet the teachers I was greeted by the sounds that fill your grounds on a daily basis – laughter as pure and delighted as only children can deliver.

But it wasn’t just that, it wasn’t even the teachers who don’t even teach my child but who rushed to greet me and asked after my holiday or the parents and staff that spoke to Little Pencil with genuine delight. The fact that there was tea and coffee wasn’t even what clinched the deal.

What I loved was speaking to your teachers. From Maths to English, from Science to History and every subject in between your teachers swept me off my feet with their understanding of my child and the apparent love that they have for teaching him.  The way they connected with him, the methods they use to teach, their understanding of 13-year-old boys is phenomenal but what really spoke to me is how involved they make him in the learning process. The old fashioned structure of the child sitting at the foot of the teacher and taking in their every word is not even given a nod in your classrooms, here your teachers listen to what the kids have to say, they learn and develop together, every subject a journey not a destination.  I love that it’s not all about facts, that opinion is fostered and sharing of ideas is promoted.

I know why my son has a skip in his step every time he enters your doors, I know why he comes home from school with a smile on his face, I know that he’s happy and I can see why.

Thank  you school, thanks to your principal, your teachers and every other member of your staff. I am glad we found each other.

Love Lana

PS Even though I do love you I still think you can cut down on the number of emails you send me…

  1. I have absolutely nothing to add, which is surprising from the biggest “add oner” I know! Ok… Just a couple of things. Since my squirt and I also attended the same parent/ teacher shing down..
I was delighted with the question answer process. In a way it was like being a voyuer to their communication process
    “So how’s high school”?
    “It’s good”
    “Is it what you imagined?”
“No. It’s so much easier than I thought!”…….

  2. Agree – best school ever!

  3. So funny… I was nodding along with everything but thinking ‘except for the emails….’

  4. This is gold!

  5. Blood doping involves drawing blood from an athlete to induce anemia, waiting a few weeks to allow
erythropoietin to restore the hematocrit to normal levels (~ 45% men, ~ 42% women),
and then reinfusing the athlete’s stored blood thereby boosting
the erythrocyte density. Immediately you start considering buying anabolic
steroids, you ought to know what they are. It is not able to reduce the
steroid dose in patients with severe asthma.

  6. With havin so much content do you ever run into any problems of plagorism or copyright violation?
My website has a lot of unique content I’ve either authored myself or outsourced
but it seems a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my authorization.
Do you know any techniques to help protect against content from being stolen?
    I’d really appreciate it.

  7. My brother recommended I might like this blog. He was once entirely right.
This puut up actually made my day. You can not imagine simply how
a lot time I had spent for this information!
    Thanks!
